Mechanics:
– May choose to re-roll any failed roll a number of times per day equal to their Void, in or out of combat, including an iaijutsu strike. In place of the initial skill used for this re-roll, the character should substitute their Iaijutsu skill level. [clarification: the player may choose to use this mechanic over the standard ancestor Advantage mechanic. But may not elect to use the other mechanic thereafter.]
– If defending the Emperor, the Doji noble family, or a member of the Hantei house, they add a + 10 to their TN to be hit in any combat [Armor TN modifier], including iaijutsu duels. the blood of Kakita has its drawbacks, however, as Kakita was not loved by all.

Bio:

Kouryu is the only son of Kakita Gozaemon and Otsu. His parents where both Crane Magistrate. He was ushered to the Kakita dueling academy the moment his father recognized the potential of his son. From a young age his sensei notice the potential of kouryu with the sword as well. He had bested some of his senpai during sparring. Being a good with the sword also comes with a disadvantage. As his sensei also noticed when ever Kouryu practices they always hear him say “Not good enough” Even though he could swing the sword perfectly with out any fault it seems that it will not satisfy him unless he felt that it was the right swing. This lead to his character to be always staying away from the other student of his class. Some call him weird and crazy for repeatedly swing his bokken with out stopping until he is satisfied with it. Keeping to himself and practicing alone.
