Bio:

The only child of Asako Kiyoshi and Asako Amaya, Asako Misaki has always been the worry of her parents, ever since they learned that she had the Gaki-do (餓鬼何). Failing to find a way to remove the curse, her father Kiyoshi had decided that she should learn how to be able to defend herself, should the time come that she has to face the gaki. This came as a surprise to the Asako clan in general, particularly Amaya, who had always felt that Misaki was better off with a sheltered life.

In spite of her mother’s retort and the clan’s overall dislike of the idea, Misaki began to study the way of the blade, with Kiyoshi justifying his decision for her to study fighting by stating that the art of iajutsu is not just the fighting of brutes, but the defense of honor between men… that the study of combat is just as important as the study of any lore on paper, and that as long as Misaki’s other studies are not disrupted, there is no real reason for anyone to be worried about what else she may study for her own protection. As years passed, she proved herself just as able in mind as in body, causing most of those in the clan — save her mother perhaps — to lighten up on the issue.
